Privacy policy
What Feedlits keeps, why, who helps us run it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are
Feedlits (feedlits.com) makes interactive Players for posts on X. It is run by Daniel Kempe in the United Kingdom. Write to hello@feedlits.com about anything on this page.
We have two roles, depending on who you are:
- If you use Feedlits to make Players, we are the controller of your account information.
- If you play a Player that a brand made with Feedlits, that brand decides what it collects and why, and we process it for them. Their privacy policy is linked wherever a Player asks for your email. We also use some of it ourselves to keep the service running and free of abuse, as described below.
If you use Feedlits
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To sign you in (we email a link and a code; there is no password) and to send the emails described below. |
| Your workspace: its name, brand colours and logo, your Players and every saved version, publishes, and the posts you link them to | That is the service. |
| Conversations with the AI builder, including web pages you ask it to read | To make and change Players for you. Kept with the Player so you can see what was asked. |
| A record of each sign-in email: the address, the time and the IP address that asked for it | To stop people using our sign-in form to flood someone's inbox. |
| Your email choices (leads, Q&A, X status) | So we only send what you asked for. |
We send you sign-in emails and a welcome email because the service needs them. Lead, Q&A and X status emails are optional: switch each off in Settings or with the link in the email.
Our lawful bases are contract (running the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (keeping it secure and working).
If you play a Player
A Player counts what happens in it so its owner can see whether it worked:
- Events: that it loaded, that you played, how far you got, how long it was on screen, and whether you clicked through.
- A random id stored in your browser's local storage, so the Player can remember that you already voted and count people rather than page loads. It is not linked to your name or X account.
- Your device: browser, operating system, screen size, language and time zone.
- Roughly where you are: city and country, worked out from your IP address on our own server when the event arrives. We don't store the IP address.
- What you choose to enter: votes, answers, scores, and anything you write. Text you share in a Player (a question, a message on a wall) is shown to other people playing it.
- Your email and X handle, only if you type them in. These go to the brand that made the Player, with the consent line you were shown and a link to their privacy policy. That brand is responsible for how it uses them.
The Players on the Feedlits home page are demos: anything typed into them is checked and thrown away, never kept. See privacy on the demos.
Visiting feedlits.com
We count visits to our own pages (this site, the sign-up pages and the dashboard) with GoatCounter, an open-source counter that we run on our own server. It records the page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, screen size and country, and uses a short-lived salted hash to tell a repeat visit from a new one; it sets no cookies and keeps no IP address. It doesn't run inside Players.
The status page
If you subscribe to updates on the status page, we keep your email address to tell you when X stops or restarts showing Player Cards. Each email has a link to stop them.
Who helps us run Feedlits
| Who | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Our servers and database | London, United Kingdom |
| Resend | Sending email | Ireland, European Union |
| Anthropic | The AI builder: what you ask it, and pages you ask it to read, are sent to Anthropic's Claude to write the Player | United States |
The location database that turns an IP address into a city (DB-IP) and our visit counter (GoatCounter) run on our own server; nothing is sent to anyone to do them. Where data goes outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires for that transfer. We don't sell personal data, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Cookies and storage
- fl_session: a cookie that keeps you signed in to the dashboard, for 30 days or until you sign out. Strictly necessary.
- In Players: local storage holds the random id described above and what the Player needs to remember for you (that you voted, your place in a waitlist).
How long we keep it
- Sign-in links and codes stop working after 20 minutes, or once used.
- Your account, workspace and Players: while your account is open. Ask us to close it and we delete them within 30 days.
- Events, responses and leads belong to the workspace that collected them and are kept while it exists. Owners can delete leads; ask us to delete anything else.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to have it in a portable form. Write to hello@feedlits.com. If it is about a brand's Player, we'll pass your request to that brand and help them answer it.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd like the chance to put it right first.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and email people with an account.
